Route 34. Lerín Saltwater Spring

We start the circular route from the swimming pools of Lerín. We begin with a short climb along the crest of the Sierra del Monte, surrounded at all times by pine woodland. After the first kilometre and a half of the route, we begin the descent while enjoying the ravines of this area of Lerín. Erosion has shaped a landscape that surprises and delights visitors.

We take a turn-off from the main path which, after 400 metres, leads us to the saltwater spring. This spring is one of the vestiges of the traditional saltworks trade, which took place in Lerín from the 12th century until 1972.

Finally, we return to the junction and continue along the path until we reach the urban centre of Lerín and the starting point of the route once again.
