Route 6. Artavia Forest

Starting the circular route from the car park of the bathing area in Artavia, we head upstream, parallel to the course of the River Urederra. In just over half a kilometre, we leave the valley floor and face the climb towards the heights of the Sierra de Lokiz. A steady ascent through the dense forests of Artavia brings us closer to the rugged eastern walls of Lokiz, giving us the possibility of reaching the highest point of this range.

However, the itinerary turns, taking us in the opposite direction, and we begin to descend towards the village of Galdeano. After crossing it, we follow the foothills of Lokiz and return to the village of Artavia.
